Annual Budget

Once your chart of accounts is complete, you'll add your annual budget for each account.

Enter positive numbers for revenue accounts; negative numbers for expense accounts. If reversed, the value will be highlighted in bright red (critical error).

Wondering why the negative numbers have parenthesis around them? That's the way accountants notate a negative value. Any number you enter with a negative symbol will change to the parenthesis format.

If you would like to check if your proposed budget will results in a balanced, deficit, or surplus budget – check your A: Budget report and look at the Annual Budget column. This will show your budget's total revenue, total expenses, and grand total.
