The Recurring Transactions sheet is available as a convenience, not a requirement. It is used to make it easy to copy recurring information and paste it into your Journal. This can save time and reduce data entry errors.
This sheet looks much like your Journal (though the red header is designed to help you recognize the difference at a quick glance).
For each row, enter only the information that is typically the same each month for each recurring transaction. All Journal columns are included, though several will probably never be used here (check and date, for example).
To copy the data to your journal, highlight all rows with transactions (including blank columns) and copy.
Navigate to your Journal sheet. Click "Jump to End" which should take you to the first blank row in your journal (with the cell in column A selected). This is exactly where you want to be if you copied all columns from the Recurring sheet. Paste.
That should paste all the recurring data to the end of your Journal, in the correct columns, ready for you to add the missing data (dates, amounts, statuses, etc.)
If data didn't paste to the correct columns: undo (Command + Z on a Mac or Ctrl + Z on a PC/Windows) and try again.
